Misery Character Descriptions:
The Characters of Annie and Paul will require physical movement such as assisting in
lifting another person, moving set pieces, moving one’s body weight with use of the
upper body only, a fight scene, and other physical actions while performing
lines/scenes.
Annie Wilkes (Female; Age: Late 20s-50): Annie is a former Nurse who seems to be sweet and caring on the surface, even though she is a little strange. However, as much as she tries to hide it with a cheerful persona, Annie’s true nature comes to light: obsessive, manipulative and unstable. She is Paul Sheldon’s #1 Fan.
Paul Sheldon (Male; Age 30-60): Paul is a famous romance author that is trying to move away from the series that brought him his success and into stories he feels are more “serious”. After a bad car accident that broke both of his legs, he finds himself trapped in the home of Annie Wilkes. Paul is a bit arrogant, but extremely crafty and is willing to do anything to survive.
Buster (Age 30-60): Buster is the local Sheriff who is searching for Paul Sheldon.
